Charwood Innovation
R&D centre dedicated to pyrogasification
Through our subsidiary Charwood Innovation, our mission is to develop pyrogasification solutions to support the energy transition as effectively as possible. Pyrogasification enables end-of-life products to be recycled, and provides solutions for manufacturers to replace fossil gas in their processes.
In Brittany, our team of researchers, engineers and technicians is developing sustainable energy production solutions (gas, heat and electricity) on a module in operation. Used for research, the centre is an incubator and accelerator for technology development. We offer our customers biofuel testing and training for their teams.

W&nergy
Energy production & sales
To meet growing demand, particularly from industry, our Group has joined forces with the Eiffel Gaz Vert fund to become an Independent Power Producer (IPP) through a dedicated subsidiary, W&nergy, by acquiring stakes in Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) that own pyrogasification plants designed and built by our other subsidiary, Energy&+.
These SPVs sell the energy produced directly to the client through energy buyback contracts known as “Corporate Power Purchase Agreements”.
The power stations transform biomass and produce syngas and biochar that can be recycled and generate carbon credits.
LG Concept
Wood energy production and logistics
A 40%-owned subsidiary of the Group since 2023, LG Concept specialises in the production and logistics of wood energy.
It currently has 5 platforms spread across western France, enabling us to be as close as possible to the resource and its uses.
LG Concept’s approach is to use local biomass resources in a sustainable way, and to use wood that can be used primarily as timber for sawmills, according to the hierarchy of uses.
The company is developing its business with local authorities and forest owners, both for exploitation and for the creation of plantations or the maintenance of afforestation.
Energy&+
Design and construction of energy production plants
For more than 19 years, Energy&+ has been developing solutions for converting biomass into low-carbon energy.
A subsidiary of the Group, the company specialises in the design, construction and commissioning of our customised, turnkey biomass energy solutions.
Thanks to its design office and integrated engineering expertise, Energy&+ masters the entire production chain and designs, in its workshops in Brittany, installations in modular containers or in traditional construction for manufacturers, farmers and local authorities.

Biomass heating systems
Heating systems fuelled by plant material

Methanisation
Technology based on the degradation of organic matter by micro-organisms in a digester, producing both recoverable biogas and digestate.
Charwood Energy works alongside its various partners to engineer and build efficient, profitable methanisation units.
Their experience enables them to recommend the most appropriate recovery solutions for their customers’ specifications: cogeneration, purification, CO2, CNG, etc.
Pyro-gasification
Thermochemical process that transforms solid biomass into syngas containing a significant proportion of hydrogen and carbon monoxide
In addition to syngas, which can be recovered as electricity or heat (cogeneration), by direct combustion or enrichment/purification, the system also produces “biochar”, which can be recovered.
Charwood Energy designs and builds wood gasification energy production units.
These do not cause conflicts in terms of use of raw materials, and they allow the economic development of the regions.
The management of the resource within the framework of a circular economy that respects geographical proximity and the reasoned management of deposits is essential in its approach. Also, to limit the footprint and facilitate deployment in all types of locations and territories, Charwood Energy is able to design modular and prefabricated solutions, in containers.
